Scream-A-Geddon Opens 2026 Season in Dade City With New $2.5 Million Midway

Scream-A-Geddon opened its 12th season on Saturday, August 29, and the horror park at 27839 Saint Joe Road is holding a dedicated Opening Night event this Friday, September 4, with gates at 7 p.m. The big change this year sits right at the front of the park: a rebuilt midway called Bonzo's Bizarre, the largest single project in the attraction's history at a reported $2.5 million.

The season runs on select dates through Sunday, November 1. For anyone in east Pasco planning a fall weekend, or fielding requests from teenagers who've already seen the ads online, this is the one to know about before ticket prices climb closer to Halloween.

What $2.5 million bought

The midway has always been the connective space between the park's haunted houses, the place where Bonzo and his clowns pour drinks and run games while guests move from one scare to the next. For 2026 that whole area was rebuilt as a 50,000-square-foot environment carrying Bonzo's name.

The rebuild includes a fully paved midway with permanent covered pavilions, four new food trucks, fire pits for s'mores, and an expanded beer garden pouring local wine and craft beer. The parking lots and the internal park roads were also repaved, a change that will not show up in any promotional photo but will matter to anyone walking in from the parking field on a wet October night.

Six attractions, one park

This year's lineup includes Killgore's 3D Circus, which debuted last season and now anchors the roster, along with Bloodwater Bayou, Breach, Ravenhill Asylum, Demon's Revenge, and Zombie Paintball Assault. The park also runs midway games, hatchet throwing, and photo stations for guests who want a break between houses.

Scream-A-Geddon has long used a consent-based touch model rather than a blanket policy, letting guests choose their intensity at the door. For 2026, that opt-in option, where guests 18 and older can mark themselves to be grabbed, held back, or pulled aside, runs in both Breach and Ravenhill Asylum, up from just one attraction in past seasons.

Tickets and what to expect at the gate

General admission starts at $27.95 and varies by date, with VIP experiences priced separately. Prices climb the closer a date gets to the event and at the gate itself, so buying ahead online is the cheaper route for anyone planning a specific night out.

Dade City sits at the center of this every fall. The park draws visitors from across Tampa Bay onto Saint Joe Road, and that means heavier evening traffic on the roads leading into the property on the busiest weekends, particularly closer to Halloween. Opening Night on Friday is the first real test of how the new midway handles a full crowd.

The park has not announced a firm calendar of which specific nights are open between now and November 1 beyond the general run of select dates through the fall, and admission pricing is expected to keep climbing as October approaches.
