The city has posted notice for an Oct. 27 public hearing on Ordinance 2026-22, which would pause certain development applications tied to data centers and other large-load customers inside city limits.

Dade City has posted notice for an Oct. 27 public hearing on Ordinance 2026-22, a proposed temporary moratorium on development applications tied to data centers and other large-load customers. The notice was published Sept. 30 and says the city commission will take up the ordinance at 5:30 p.m. in City Commission Chambers, 38020 Meridian Avenue.
If adopted, the moratorium would pause applications for building permits, site plans, development orders, development agreements, special exception uses, conditional uses, rezonings and comprehensive plan amendments tied to those projects within Dade City.
What residents can do
The city says the public file is available through the Community and Economic Development office at 38020 Meridian Avenue, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and residents can request an appointment to review documents or submit written comments or evidence before the hearing.
The notice also tells affected parties to appear and be heard.
