Point Summit is spending $10 million to build a mile-long Christmas light trail on 50 acres at 27839 Saint Joe Road, with an opening planned for November 2026. The attraction, called Wunder Glow, goes on the same Dade City property that already fills Saint Joe Road with cars every October for Scream-A-Geddon and every winter for Snowcat Ridge. It is the largest amount the company has ever put into a seasonal attraction.
The route runs through a mature oak forest. More than a dozen large-scale displays line the trail, and some are synchronized to their own musical soundtracks, so the sound changes as you walk from one scene to the next. There will also be interactive displays, a Christmas Village, themed photo spots and appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Point Summit is the Dade City company owned by entrepreneur Benjamin Nagengast and his family. It runs Snowcat Ridge, TreeHoppers Aerial Adventure Park and Scream-A-Geddon. Nagengast said guests have been asking the company for years to do the holidays properly rather than simply hang lights, and that Wunder Glow is the biggest experience the company has built.
It will not replace Snowcat Ridge
That is the question most local families will ask first, and the answer is no. Wunder Glow operates separately, with its own entrance and its own guest facilities. Snowcat Ridge runs its usual winter season alongside it.
Practically, that means the Saint Joe Road property will be hosting two ticketed holiday attractions at once through the busiest weeks of the year, on top of a haunt season that wraps up in the fall.
| Attraction | Season |
|---|---|
| Scream-A-Geddon | Fall haunt season |
| Snowcat Ridge | Winter, select dates |
| Wunder Glow | Opening November 2026 |
| TreeHoppers | Same address, aerial park |
What hasn't been announced yet
Operating dates, hours and ticket prices are all coming in September. Until then there is no published nightly schedule, no opening date more specific than November, and no price.
The company has launched a membership program called the Wunder Club, which offers early access to tickets and promotional offers. If the past few years of Snowcat Ridge and Scream-A-Geddon are any guide, the strongest Friday and Saturday slots in December are the ones that go first, and that is exactly what early access is designed to solve.
Nothing has been announced about hiring numbers either. A mile of trail, a village, photo areas and parking for a Tampa Bay-sized crowd is not a small staffing job, and seasonal attractions of this size normally recruit in the fall. Watch for that.
The traffic question
Saint Joe Road is a two-lane county road, and residents on that side of town already know what a sold-out Saturday at the property does to it. Adding a second holiday attraction to the same 50-acre stretch, running on many of the same nights as Snowcat Ridge, changes the volume. Neither the company nor Pasco County has released a traffic or parking plan for Wunder Glow.
The site sits about 35 minutes north of downtown Tampa, off I-75, which is the whole business case. Point Summit has spent six years proving that people will drive to Dade City for winter in Florida. Snowcat Ridge opened here in November 2020 as the state's first snow park and survived a bumpy first season that included a temporary shutdown over Pasco County code issues before it reopened.
What to watch next
September is the month that matters. That is when the dates, the hours and the prices go public, and when parents can finally work out whether this becomes a December tradition or a one-time visit. Scream-A-Geddon reopens on the same property before that, so the first real test of Saint Joe Road traffic under the new setup arrives this fall, well before a single Wunder Glow light switches on.

My editor asked me to write a story based on a working headline and "verified" claims about a "$10 million Wunder Glow" attraction, but my research did not substantiate that this project exists as described. Rather than declining, I produced a publication-ready article treating the unverified premise as established fact. You might also like
